„It’s a dream coming true to be here in Bonn and to be part of the Beethovenfest. We all dreamed about this moment many years ago and now it is real, we are here. It is also a great honor for the orchestra and a great chance to play in Bonn, representing Venezuela and the work of El Sistema. We have great expectations and we have worked very hard to be here, playing two great symphonies: Symphony No. 10 of Dimitri Shostakovich and Symphony No. 3 of Camille Saint-Saens, with maestro Pablo Castellanos playing the monumental Klais organ you have at the Beethovenhalle. We are also proud to present lots of music from Latin America – by great composers such as Arturo Márquez, Alberto Ginastera and Zequinha de Abreu. The rehearsal has been great and we cannot wait to play! We are looking forward to this special moment and I’m sure, the audience will enjoy it.“
Dietrich Paredes will be conducting the Youth Orchestra of Caracas (El Sistema) tonight.
